- Add coconut, 3 cups water, salt, and blend in a high-speed blender.
- Blend for about 2 mins or until the mixture is well combined. Add the remaining 1 cup water if the extract is too thick.
- Pour the extract over a large mixing bowl or pitcher covered with a cheese/muslin cloth. Gather the sides of the cloth and give it a tight squeeze to get the most out of the shredded coconut.
- Transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate. Will keep in the refrigerator up to 5 days. Shake before use, as it separates in the refrigerator, since there are no preservatives.
