Laksa- The Quintessential Malaysian Dish

Laksa is a spicy soup dish which is popular in Malaysia. It is a common street food and Malaysian families have their own way of preparing the dish. Typically the dish has a combination of rice noodles and Hokkien noodles, but also the dish can be eaten with a bowl of rice.

There are many different versions to this delicious dish, which have are named according to the state or region that they come from. This includes Penang Assam Laksa, a sour laksa with seafood and Johor Laksa, which has a thick creamy soup. There are also Sarawak Laksa made with more spices than most other Laksas, and also Laksa Siam, which features a beautiful blend of Malaysian and Thai flavours.
