Directions
To Cook
- Start by preparing the rice as per your preferred method.
- In a bowl, marinate the pork slices with 1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Soy Sauce, 1 tbsp Obento Cooking Sake and ½ tbsp grated ginger. Leave to marinate in the fridge for about 20 mins.
- In the meantime, prepare the sauce by mixing in a bowl the remaining 2 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Soy Sauce, 1 tbsp Obento Cooking Sake, 2 tbsp Obento Mirin, ½ tbsp grated ginger and ½ tbsp sugar. Mix the sauce well and set aside for later.
- After 20 mins, take the marinated pork slices out of the fridge and mix in 1 tbsp of potato or corn starch.
- Then in a large pan, heat up your oil on medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add in the pork slices.
- Cook the pork until they’re slightly charred (1–2 mins) then add in the onion slices and cook for 2 mins.
- Next, add the sauce mixture in the pan and let everything cook for another 2 mins before turning the heat off.
- An optional step, in a smaller pan, fry 2 eggs sunny side up.
- To serve, assemble the dish by placing the cooked rice in a bowl, topped with the egg, followed by the stir-fried pork, sliced cabbage and ginger pickle. Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
