Located in Haymarket, just a short stroll from Sydney’s Chinatown, Thai Town is a dynamic neighbourhood of Thai restaurants and groceries stores along Campbell Street, Pitt Street and George Street. Take a walk through the area to discover the best places to eat and shop in Thai Town.
Boon Cafe
Begin your Thai Town tour with a Thai-style breakfast at Jarern Thai’s Boon Café, from the team behind Chat Thai (see below). Sydney food lovers have been flocking to Boon since it opened in 2015, dining on punchy breakfasts of Kai Gatah (pan-baked eggs with smoked fish sausage, pork and chicken mince), or croissants with pandan custard, and lunchtime buns filled with fried chicken and Som Tum salad. Later in the day, it’s all about the Isaan specialties, such as Larb, Sai Ouah (pork and chilli sausage) or grilled skewers.
