About
From the team behind the uber fancy Wild Duck comes Momoda, a more casual and trendy dining experience all about Chinese fusion set in Shanghai glam era decor.
The restaurant and bar concept specialise in putting a playful modern Australian twist on classic Chinese restaurant menu staples. Even the name is playful; “Momoda” in China is a slang term that means “kiss kiss” or “mwah”.
“Wild Duck is very different. It’s fine dining; it’s not for everyone,” co-owner Irean Tan told us when we visited the restaurant, “[Momoda] is more approachable, more casual, more relaxed.”
They’ve got something for everyone on their menu, from the double cheeseburger dumplings served with asian slaw to the standout vego dish cauliflower san choy bowl. Their goal is to introduce elements of Chinese food to newbies in an accessible way.
