Directions
To Cook
- Defrost tuna by soaking in water in the packet (about 15 minutes).
- Pat the tuna steak dry with kitchen towel and sprinkle salt and pepper on one side.
- Mix all the liquid ingredients plus sugar and ginger to preferred taste.
- Heat up a pan to medium heat with some olive oil and fry with the seasoned side down. Meanwhile, season the top side. (watch how fast it cooks by looking at the side of the tuna and estimate the amount of cooking on all sides to ready in your preference). Cooking time was roughly 5 mins for both top and bottom plus 3 edges.
- Slice the tuna across the grain and plate. Drizzle a little of the sauce on one side of the tuna slices. Garnish with a little salad or mircrogreens and a few sesame seeds. Serve with the remaining sauce in a dipping bowl.
- The same recipe can be used for beef as well.
