About
After moving to Australia from Singapore, Miah and daughter Nabila opened Miah’s Sambalicious six years ago. This humble canteen is reminiscent of a hawker stall in one of Singapore’s food centre, as Miah and her family dish up authentic and affordable Malay food.
Located near Monash University in Clayton, the small family business is perfect for uni students looking for some delicious, homemade Malay food. This hidden gem is also popular with Malaysian and Singaporean expats looking to grab a hearty lunch that’ll take them back home. Miah’s is also open for dinner.
You can’t go to Miah’s without grabbing their Nasi Lemak—get it with the fried chicken maryland! They’ve unlocked the secret to cooking the perfect fried chicken that’s perfectly crispy on the outside, but with meat that’s still super juicy and tender. It goes perfectly with the fragrant coconut rice, fresh cucumber, crispy ikan bilis and spicy sambal.
Be sure to order a hot mug of teh tarik with whatever you’re ordering. The sweet, milky tea is the perfect partner for the spicy, flavour-packed dishes at Miah’s.
