About
Malay Chinese has been cooking and serving up Sydney’s best known and most beloved laksa for more than 30 years now.
Still very much family owned, a step into this casual space takes you all the way to Malaysia—from the furniture, the heat and the crowds queueing to order then waiting for the next available table. Peak hour sees this place packed to the door with office workers in the CBD and bibs can be seen tucked into the collars of men in white shirts.
Although there’s not much in the way of decor at this unpretentious takeaway restaurant, the proof is really in the bowl of laksa. The family recipe strikes a balance of spice, with the right soup consistency and ingredients.

Yep, can verify this. Have eaten here with two chefs, one Chinese who both give it the seal of approval! The quality of the stock is traditional, flavour doesn’t come from a can!
