Malaysian Satay Beef


It is a street eat and a well-loved Asian sauce of chopped peanuts, spices, chilli and tamarind, this sauce evokes a sweet yet slightly spicy flavour that promises to whet everyone’s appetite!
Cooking Time: < 15mins
Serves:3 to 4
Total time: 60mins - 120mins
Course: Entrée
Cook Method: Grill/BBQ

Ingredients:

6 tbsp Yeo’s Satay Sauce
1 lemon (zest only)
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp Yeo’s Pure Sesame Oil
400g beef fillet (thinly sliced)
1 pack skewers (soak in water)
1 cos lettuce (quartered)
1 red onion (sliced)
1 cucumber (sliced)




Steps:
  1. Combine Yeo’s Satay Sauce, lemon zest, turmeric, cumin, salt and sesame oil. Add beef and marinade for at least 1 hr.
  2. Thread beef strips onto skewers and grill over charcoal or on a hot skillet until just done.
  3. Serve with steamed rice, salad and a bowl of warm Yeo’s Satay Sauce.
