Mangosteen

The Purple Mangosteen, widely known as the ‘queen of fruits’ mangosteen, is the fruit of a tropical evergreen tree that grows in Southeast Asia and tropical South American countries. This fibrous fruit with a unique fragrance is sweet, tangy and juicy, covered by a rind that is deep reddish-purple. Mangosteen is available canned and frozen. Thai cuisine uses mangosteen juice in various savoury dishes. You can add the juice of the fruit to a citrus jelly or granita or even serve the fruit segments in a fresh fruit salad.
