The fruit of a species of tree belonging to the Mahogany family, the lanzone is oval, round or elliptical in shape and it is more recognizable to some referred to by its Malay name Langsat. The fruit grows in clusters and contains 1-3 seeds, covered by a white flesh that tastes sweet and sour. Lanzones are eaten raw or bottled as syrups.
