Assam Prawn (Tamarind Prawn)
Tamarind Prawn Recipe


Tamarind prawn also known as Assam prawn in Malay, is a very unique Malaysian-Nyonya cuisine. Despite being easy to prepare, tamarind prawns are absolutely succulent; the bold and tart tamarind flavours accentuates the sweet delicate flavour of the prawns.
Cooking Time: 15mins - 30mins
Serves:3 to 4
Total time: 30mins - 60mins

Ingredients:

3 tbsp cooking oil
250g prawns

Marinade

2 tbsp Jeeny’s Tamarind Puree
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp sugar




Steps:
  1. Mix marinade in a bowl and marinate the prawns for 30 mins.
  2. Heat oil in pan and cook prawns until lightly charred.
  3. Serve your tamarind prawn warm, and enjoy your Malaysian Meal!
