Kingfish Ochazuke

This easy Japanese fish delicacy is a hand-crafted specially for a weekend brunch. The rice, fish, wasabi and nori is a combo that you cannot miss!

Ingredients:

200g sashimi grade kingfish fillet
steamed rice
nori sheets (cut into strips)
Shichimi (Japanese seven-spice pepper)
S&B Wasabi Paste
hot Genmaicha (Japanese green tea with roasted rice)

Sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
100ml cooking sake
1½ tbsp mirin seasoning
¼ cup sesame seeds (toasted and crushed)




Steps:
  1. Sauce: mix all sauce ingredients, rest in fridge for up to 2 hrs to enhance flavours.
  2. Cut kingfish into 1.5cm cubes, toss in the sauce to coat.
  3. Place rice in 4 bowls, top with kingfish, nori, shichimi and wasabi.
  4. Pour over hot tea just before serving.
