Guava Buns
Guava Buns


Don't be misled by the name, these dumpling-like "buns" do not contain guava. Instead they are filled with minced pork and Chinese sausage, Try this chinese guava buns recipe.

Ingredients:

100g minced pork
1 Wing Hong Pork Sausage
½ sheet beancurd skin
½ cup spring onion (minced)
½ egg white
2 tbsp water
½ tbsp Yeo's Light Soy Sauce
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
coriander stems (leaves removed)




Steps:
  1. Spread beancurd skin across chopping board. Using a clean cloth, wipe away salt, then cut into 5cm squares.
  2. Mix minced pork, soy sauce, salt, pepper, egg white, and water in a bowl. Stir until blended. Add pork sausage and spring onion.
  3. Soak coriander stems in hot water to soften. Spoon pork mixture into the centre of each beancurd square. Wrap and tie using coriander stem.
  4. Steam for 7 mins over high heat.
  5. Serve with soy sauce.

Tip: Alternatively, buns can be pan-fried after steaming until golden brown.
