Thai Grilled Prawns with Tamarind Sauce Recipe


This quick and easy Thai Grilled Prawns with Tamarind Sauce is a hot favourite. The flavours are so well-balanced with three tastes coming together in one dish - sour, sweet and salty!

Ingredients:

4 large king prawns
2 tbsp crispy fried sliced shallots
6 small dried chilli

Tamarind sauce

¼ cup tamarind puree
2 tbsp fish sauce
¼ cup Sugar (can be less if you don't want it so sweet)




Steps:
  1. For tamarind sauce, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Place over medium low heat until boiling, keep stirring. Simmer for further few minutes until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
  2. Clean the whole prawns, cut at the back from head to tail and devein.
  3. Grill the prawns for few minutes, or only just cooked.
  4. Arrange the prawns in a serving plate.
  5. Pour the tamarind sauce over the prawns.
  6. Garnish with fried shallot and dried chilli.
