Char Siu Pork Fillet
Char Siu Pork Fillet


Literally meaning fork burn/roast, this delicious recipe of the Char Siu Pork Fillet is a Cantonese-style barbequed pork. It is the basis of many popular dishes in Chinese restaurants.

Ingredients:

300g pork fillet
2 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce
1 tbsp dry sherry or Shao Xing Chinese wine
honey or maltose (to glaze)
1 spring onion (sliced for garnish)




Steps:
  1. Marinate meat in char siu sauce and dry sherry marinade for at least 30 mins.
  2. Pre-heat oven to 190°C.
  3. Brown pork in pan, place in oven for 30 mins.
  4. Brush with honey or maltose.
  5. Bake for a further 5 mins then remove from oven, rest and slice thinly.
  6. Garnish with spring onion.
