Char Siu Lamb


Char siu, literally "fork roast" is a popular way to flavour and prepare meat (traditionally pork) in Cantonese cooking. Try this Chinese recipe.

Ingredients:

4 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce
1 tbsp honey
¼ cup tomato juice or crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp oil
600g lamb steaks (trim)
100g baby Asian greens such as choy sum
½ red capsicum (seeds removed, cut into thin strips)




Steps:
  1. Combine char siu sauce, honey, tomato juice and 1 tsp oil in a bowl.
  2. Add lamb steaks and toss to coat evenly. Cover and set aside for at least 15 mins.
  3. Heat remaining oil in fry pan or on a barbeque or hot plate over medium-high heat. Cook lamb steaks, 3-4 minutes each side.
  4. Serve topped with baby Asian greens, rocket or strips of capsicum.
