BBQ wasabi beef steaks with mushroom rice salad recipe

Ingredients:

4 thick cut steak
3 tsp S&B Wasabi Paste
4 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp garlic (minced)
½ cup Teriyaki sauce
1½ cups Japanese sushi rice (cooked)
¼ cup dried mushroom (sliced)
2 pkts instant red miso Soup
wasabi paste (to serve)




Steps:
  1. Combine the wasabi, light soy, garlic and teriyaki sauce in a non-metallic bowl. Marinate for several hours or overnight.
  2. Combine the instant miso soup with 3 cups of water and bring to the boil; add the rice and mushrooms to the pot and bring to the boil stirring. Cook for 12 mins until rice is tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Pre-heat a griddle pan or bib grill plate over medium heat for 2 mins and cook steak for 2 mins on each side. Then transfer steak to the pre-heated oven to cook for a further 5 mins at 150°C. Rest 2 mins prior to serving.
  4. Squeeze a small amount of wasabi onto the centre of each plate; place a mould of rice salad onto each plate and arrange sliced steak over the wasabi and serve.

Note: Rice salad can be served warm or cold
