Benefits of Star Fruit

One of the prettier fruits that originate from Southeast Asia, the star fruit is a green garnish that often accompanies deep-fried sweet potatoes in road side stalls. What’s interesting about Star Fruit is that it is found in both sweet and sour forms. The brighter yellow the fruit, the riper it is, hence the sweeter it is.

For such a rare commodity, it is very impressive how widely it is used in Southeast Asian recipes. Thai cuisine, Malaysian cuisine and Indonesian cuisine include Star Fruit in juices, shakes and smoothies. The fruit is also found in many fresh salads.
