The Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre, which is also known as the Macau Tower, was inaugurated and officially opened to the public on 19th December 2001. This tower has a record-breaking height of 338m (1,109 ft.), making it one of the highest points from ground level in the world.
Located in the Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Macau used to be a Portuguese colony in the nineties. This tower, created by the architectural firm of Craig Craig Moller, offers the best view of Macau. The tower has made its way into the World Federation of Great Towers. Besides being used for broadcasting and telecommunication, the tower is also used for entertainment and observation.
A truly enriching travel experience, this piece of beauty is not just picture-perfect but it also offers many interesting activities for its visitors. The tower houses an observation deck with panoramic views, Skywalk X, restaurants, shopping malls, theaters, and a thrilling walking tour around the outer rim.
The Macau tower is best-known for the World’s Highest Bungee Jump, where visitors can take the plunge from a height of 233m, at a speed of 200km/h. The challengers experience a 4-5 second freefall before stretching the 50-meter bungee cord, with a rebound at approximately 30 meters above the ground. This tower has been responsible for creating and breaking many world records.
The Macau tower also serves as a popular photo-shoot venue for various events and weddings. It is an ideal location to soak in the city. Make sure your Macau itinerary lists this beauty.
