There is no dearth of enjoyment in the magical island of Singapore, and Sentosa island just goes on to prove that right. A sheltered beach, lush green golf courses, and a resort featuring the famed theme park Universal Studios – these are just a few attractions in the long list of exciting things one can see, do and experience in Sentosa.
In Malay, Sentosa translates to “peace and tranquility”, and you get plenty of both when you’re on this Singaporean island. Tanjong Beach is a beautiful place to be when the skies turn gold and the sun goes down. The crescent-shaped beach is dotted with coconut trees and small straw huts which provide the perfect holiday feel. Here, you can sit back and enjoy a drink or two. If you’re with family, you can spread out a lunch basket and enjoy the day Singaporean style, with a helping of seafood curry.
Siloso Beach, on the other hand, is made for the sportier side of you. Grab a volleyball, hitch up a net, and just get going. If you want to indulge in something more exciting, you can always try canoeing; the waters never look more inviting than they do from Sentosa island.
There are other attractions, too, most of which are located in Imbiah Lookout. Here, you get to turn into a child again, and watch in wonder as 15,000 butterflies flutter about in the Butterfly Park. Then, you can head on over to the Oceanarium and gaze at an array of marine life including turtles, sharks, a coral reef, and stingrays. If you want to feel a rush of adrenaline, then MegaZip Adventure Park is where you should be. Located at the top of Mount Imbiah, MegaZip is Singapore’s first adventure park with one of the steepest zip wires in Asia. After that, you can see the Sentosa Luge & Skyride, a self-steering, gravity-driven three-wheel cart.
The panorama which you’re offered in Sentosa is something that you shouldn’t miss. It is a once-in-a-lifetime wonder which will remain forever etched in your memories as a brilliant travel experience.
