Must-Visit in Bali: Kintamani Region

With the backdrop of a stunning mountain range, the Kintamani Region in north-eastern Bali is paradise for travellers who want a taste of relaxation. It has a whimsical, old-town feel. Every third day, the village observes a market day, when the main streets become a bustling carnival of vendors, carrying and selling their wares on horseback.

Kintamani is one of the most beautiful and popular tourist destinations in Bali. It has an active volcano (Mount Batur) and beautiful lake. Surrounded by the captivating landscape, six ancient villages are situated around the cauldron of Batur Lake which is often conceived by Bali Age Village. The local people from these Bali Age villages each have their own unique cultures, houses and life style, making a trip to the Kintamani region a wonderful experience.

A must-visit in Bali, the Kintamani Region has some beautiful places to visit.

If you are an adventurous brave heart, this is for you. Mount Batur is an active volcano in Bali. The giant caldera is partially filled by Danau Batur, the largest Crater Lake in Bali, along with settlements and villages around the rim. It is a picture-perfect landscape. At over 5,000 ft above sea level, Mount Batur can be climbed in a day, provided you have clear skies. Steep, crisscrossing paths to the summit make it difficult to discern the shortest route (around two hours) from its otherwise long route of ten hours.

The volcanic activity in Kintamani has given way to a number of spas and hot springs. So, if ever you’re in the area, you can be assured a relaxing holiday. Be sure to mark your calendars for this must-visit in Bali: Kintamani Region.
