Must-eat in Thailand – Panaeng Curry

Panaeng Curry is a mildly-flavoured Thai curry with a delightful balance of sweet, sour and spice. Although it is very much a Thai dish, Panaeng Curry, gets its name from the northern Malaysian island of Penang. It is also sometimes called Panang Curry or even Phanaeng Curry.

It is a must-eat in Thailand and it will elevate your travel experience to a new level! It is a reddish-brown curry flavoured with rich, homemade coconut milk. It goes best with a plate of piping hot white rice and is considered a comfort Thai recipe. Make it with prawns or beef, and you’ve got yourself a winning dish from the pages of Thai cuisine. Here is our must-try tip while making Panaeng Curry: garnish with freshly sliced Kaffir Lime Leaves for that extra zing and zesty citrus aroma!

Try our panaeng curry with prawns if seafood is your calling.
