Geylang – Must-visit in Singapore

Geylang is a neighbourhood in the island of Singapore, which radiates magnificent period architecture and some of the best local foods. Here, you can grab the best of Peranakan, Indian, Malay and regional street food to satiate your taste buds. Coconut rice (Nasi Lemak), curry chicken, spicy noodles with roast beef and prawns, and a dish of vegetables sprinkled with exotic herbs and spices are easy to find in Geylang.

The neighbourhood is partly untouched by urbanisation, and has retained much of the old shophouse scenery. A bustling night life, including karaoke lounges, is a popular tourist attraction. Many restaurants, too, have sprung up on the road, providing the locals and tourists with several must-eats from the region.

Geylang is full of life, culture and great food. You will be able to lay your hands on some beautifully crafted local handicrafts, clothes and various other souvenirs when you’re travelling here. It is no surprise, then, that it is a must-visit destination in Singapore.
