Chinatown Heritage Centre – Must-visit in Singapore

The Chinatown Heritage Centre is one of the best places to visit while in Singapore. It is an engaging museum spread across 3 beautifully restored shop houses. Located on Pagoda Street, it has 15 galleries displaying the basic living conditions of Chinese immigrants which came to Singapore with very little other than the clothes on their back.

This center is the only place in Singapore that has been put back to its original state which showcases the day-to-day activates, culture and harsh living conditions of the migrants. The entire set of bedrooms, street scenes, kitchens, dens, and secret societies of the 19th and 21st centuries have been portrayed across 3 floors, giving it a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality. Apart from the galleries, souvenirs such as hand-sewn Chinese quilts and wooden clogs can be purchased over a steaming cup of coffee.
