A joyous carnival, the Yogyakarta Anniversary Celebrations bring together exciting events, competitions, food fests and performances from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Yogyakarta is well known for classical Javanese art and culture such as drama, music, poetry, ballet and puppet shows. On October 7th, every year, the residents of the city observe its anniversary through grand galas and celebrations.

A festive atmosphere along with performances by Indonesia’s top artists are the highlight of this festival. The Night Carnival, a street performance, a mobile float with a stage, and plenty of international artists from Singapore, Japan, and England form an integral part of this festival. The festival also involves competitions open to the general public.

The friendly aura that permeates through the event encourages visitors to join in the festivities and learn more about the proud and passionate culture of the region.
