In Melbourne, it’s one of the most colourful events on the calendar, featuring lion dances, music and cultural performances and a kids’ activity zone.

And, of course, mooncakes! Filled with a variety of ingredients, including red bean paste, lotus seed paste, salted egg yolk and jujube paste, these traditional cakes are savoured across Asia during the Moon Festival.

Along with delectable mooncakes, you’ll be able to sample traditional street food at the Queen Victoria Market stalls. Plus, there are mooncake-eating competitions and a noodle-making demonstration, so be sure to come with an
empty stomach!
