Here’s an opportunity for you to witness Thailand’s largest water lantern festival Loy Krathong, all set to happen at Parrammata, Sydney this year.

Loy Krathong, is a celebration of ushering in good luck and warding off evil by floating water lanterns in the river.

Be a part of this cultural extravaganza during sunset and watch the Parramatta river coming alive with hundreds of brightly lit lotus-shaped lanterns flickering and reflecting pure joy. Indeed a magical sight to behold.

What to expect at the Water Lantern festival

The event will showcase intricate crafts from Thailand, traditional Thai music, cultural performances by fire dancers, stunning fireworks displays as well as a water fountain display.

You can also participate in interactive workshops that showcases Thai culture and traditions. Other programmes include roving performers by Thai boxers and many more live entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Authentic Thai Food Stalls

What is an event without food? Experience the true flavours of Thai food with an array of delightful dishes. Try some of the authentic Thai delicacies and a selection of best Asian foods. Don’t forget to try the beer from Thai Beer Garden.

Last but not the least, make sure you take part in the ritual of launching candle-lit Krathongs on the river as you make a wish for good fortune.
