Don’t miss your chance to celebrate the Moon Festival in Sydney this weekend. The Cabramatta Moon Festival is being held this Sunday 4 September from 9am, and will feature a colourful display of lion and dragon dances, parades, and live cultural performances, culminating with a fireworks display at 8pm.
One of the highlights of the Fairfield City Council calendar, this vibrant celebration marks the Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, the second biggest event in Asia each year.
The entertainment kicks off at 10.30am with Cabramatta’s Biggest Lion Dance parade, commencing at the Mekong Mounties Group stage, near the corner of Hill and John streets. This energetic parade will feature 25 rainbow-hued lions and acrobatic performances, including a lion conga line.
On the Blue Star Air Conditioning Stage on Arthur Street, international stars including Jeremy Yong, Taikoz, K-Pop sensation Prince Mak, and Timomatic will take to the stage throughout the day.
Not only will the Cabramatta Moon Festival be a feast for the senses, it’ll also offer an authentic Asian feast, with gourmet food and market stalls lining the streets.
Nibble on traditional mooncakes as you soak up this exciting event, which celebrates the multicultural nature of the Asian Moon Festival.
Throw in amusement rides for all ages and a Family Fun Zone, and you have the makings of a memorable weekend for the whole family.
