This year expect the largest Asian cultural extravaganza at the Cabramatta Moon festival which boasts of largest Vietnamese community. Like every year, during the moon festival the streets of Cabramatta explode with numerous activities. Beautiful bright colours and enchanting food, coming to a crescendo of a massive fireworks display. Cabramatta Moon Festival is considered to be one of Australia’s biggest and brightest Asian cultural celebration.

Cabramatta Moon Festival observes a footfall of over 90,000 visitors (native and non-native) each year. People from all over Australia throng the streets of Cabramatta and celebrate the Moon Festival.

This year, Asian Inspirations will be a part of the event. You can sample some of the best Asian food at the stall and also participate in the Moon Festival FOTO Contest where you have exciting prizes up for grabs.

Some of the highlights of this festival are the street parades, mooncake eating competitions, noodle eating, prawn peeling, fishing exhibitions, lion dances, Vietnamese dance performance, fireworks and to top it all, a beautiful lantern parade led by the Moon Goddess – Chang E herself. This festival also includes activities such as fun amusement rides and monster trucks.

What’s more? The streets of Cabramatta are filled with shops that sell a range of accessories, clothes, bags, toys and many more It is also a paradise for kids as they have fun rides, sweet treats, games and cartoon characters that are exclusively present at the event to amuse the kids.

Foodies have the most fun here, as there is an array of Asian delicacies to die for with an endless variety. From Chinese to Vietnamese, you will find the most delectable food to treat your palate.

The souvenirs found at this festival will make you want to visit the country of their origin. Artefacts  beautifully crafted to perfection from all over Asia are on offer and are a must-buy. Different kinds of colourful lanterns are on display for sale. Gauze lanterns, dragon shaped lanterns, shadow picture lantern and palace lanterns are all great souvenirs, that you could send to your relatives and friends.
