  1. What is Chinese New Year and when is it celebrated?

    Chinese New Year is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. The celebrations traditionally run from the first day, to the Chinese Lunar Calendar to the 15th day of the first calendar month. This year, the Chinese New Year will be celebrated on January 28, 2017 which is calculated according to the Lunar calendar. According to Chinese astrology, each year is associated with an animal sign, occurring in a 12-year cycle. The year of 2017 is represented by the Rooster which occupies the tenth position in the Chinese Zodiac. The Rooster symbolises characteristic traits such as confidence and motivation. Those born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Rooster are loyal, trustworthy individuals.
  1. Do I have to be an Australian resident to enter the contest?

    Yes, you have to be an Australian resident and aged 18 years or over with a valid Facebook account or a registered email address to enter the contest.
  2. Do I have to purchase a product for every time I wish to enter the contest?

    Yes, you must purchase any two or more products in a single transaction from any Asian products retailer during the Promotional Period.
  3. What are the products I should buy in order to enter the contest?

    In order to enter the contest, you must buy the products which include the following participating brands: Lee Kum Kee, ABC, Squid Brand Fish Sauce, TCC, Valcom, Yeo’s, Yoosh, Lingham’s
  4. Where can I find the participating products in Australia?

    You can find all the participating products in all leading supermarkets (and Asian grocery stores).
  5. Do I need to preserve the barcode after I make the purchase?

    Yes, you will need to preserve the barcode and the receipt as proof of your purchases in order to be eligible to claim any prizes.
  6. How many times can I enter the contest?

    You can enter the contest as many times as you like. Multiple entries are allowed. However, they are subject to the following conditions:
  7. A maximum of only one weekly prize is permitted per person. There are however some conditions that apply:

    1. Only one entry is permitted per qualifying transaction (regardless of the number of eligible products purchased by you)
    2. Your dish must be unique and neatly presented with a high resolution photograph.
    3. Each entry must be submitted separately, each with accordance to the entry requirements.
    4. A maximum of one weekly prize may be permitted per person.
  1. Will I be able to vote more than once for my friend?

    Yes, you can vote more than once for your friend. Each person can submit multiple votes, which is subject to the following:
    • Each vote must be submitted separately.
    • Each person can only vote once for any one entry.
    • Each person can only vote once for any one entrant in a given week. Once you have voted for a particular entrant’s dish, you will not be eligible to vote for any other photographs/dishes submitted by that entrant throughout the week.
  2. Can my friends who live outside of Australia vote for me?

    No, voting is only open to residents of Australia with a valid Facebook account or email address.
  3. If I’m a voter, am I eligible to participate in the contest?

    Yes, if you are a voter you can also participate in the contest, provided you follow the full terms and conditions.
  1. How many winners will be chosen for the contest?

    There will be 1 Major Prize winner, 8 weekly winners and 5 Wok of Fame winners. Each winner will be notified by email and their names will be published on Asian Inspirations website.The Major Prize winner will be announced after the contest promotional period.
  2. How are weekly winners chosen?

    At the end of each Weekly Entry Period, the Promoter will calculate the number of valid votes received for each entry/recipe that was submitted during that Weekly Entry Period. The entrant who submitted the entry that received the highest number of valid votes during that Period will win a dining voucher for a restaurant, valued at $300.
  3. If I did not win in any week, will my entry be carried over to the next week and be eligible for a prize.

    No. Non-winning entries (and votes associated with the same) in each Weekly Entry Period will NOT be carried over into subsequent weekly entry periods.
  4. Do I get to choose the restaurant for the meal voucher?

    No. The Promoter will select the exact restaurant the voucher will be awarded to based on the winner’s town/city of residence.
  5. Will a previous weekly winner be eligible for yet another weekly prize?

    No, the previous weekly winner will not be eligible to win more weekly prizes.
  6. Can I edit my entries once I have submitted?

    No, you cannot edit your entry once you have submitted since it affects the voting mechanism. Voting begins soon as you submit your entry. In extreme cases if you think your entry needs editing, then mail to us at or message us on Facebook.
  7. Based on what criteria is the Major Prize winner chosen?

    The Major Prize winner’s entry will be based and judged on authenticity, presentation, originality, creativity and appetite appeal of the Photograph/Dish provided. Please see the Terms and Conditions of the competition for a full outline of judging criteria.
  8. Are weekly winners eligible for Major Prize?

    Yes, a weekly winner is also eligible for a Major Prize purely based on the creativity and appeal of the entry. However, the Major Prize will not be based on the number of votes the weekly winner received during any week.
  9. What if the winning entries are a tie?

    If the winning entries are a tie, the promoter will judge the tied entries against each other based on authenticity, presentation, originality, creativity and appetite appeal of the Photograph/Dish submitted, and determine the best entry out of the tied entries.
