Sweet and sticky Asian meatballs

Cuisine :

Chinese

Ingredients :

500g turkey mince
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 Spring green onion/ scallion
4 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon paprika
(Chilli flakes optional)

Sauce: 1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
2-3 rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup soy sauce

Cooking Steps :

Mix meatball mixture, wet hands and roll into approx 18 meatballs
Fry off quickly in peanut oil (minute on each side, no more)
Drop meatballs and sauce mixture into slow cooker
Low for 1.5-2 hrs

Service with steamed rice
Optional garnishes of cucumber, carrot, radish, spring onion, capsicum or chilli pepper.
