Sesame Oil

An edible vegetable oil derived from sesame seeds, sesame oil is used for its characteristic nutty flavour, amber colour and sesame aroma. Although it is not generally used in cooking, it is often drizzled over fish or vegetable dishes just before serving. This imparts a delightful nutty aroma and enhances the flavour of the dish. It can also be added to soups or meat and seafood marinades. When heated, sesame oil loses much of its flavour and is best when added to soups, meat, salad dressings or seafood marinades. Sesame oil is a popular choice in Asian kitchens, as is rich in nutrients and possesses amazing health benefits. It should always be stored in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight.
