Kaffir Lime Leaves

Kaffir lime leaves are shiny and dark green leaves. They are hourglass-shaped, comprising the leaf blade and a flattened, leaf-like stalk. It is extensively used in Lao, Cambodian, Indonesian and Thai cuisine for its distinct aroma. The leaves are added to curries and soups for its characteristic sharp and sour flavour and can be used as a garnishing as well. The leaves are available either fresh or frozen in major supermarkets and Chinese grocery stores. Fresh leaves can be stored in the refrigerator for a good 2 weeks.
