Jackfruit

Jackfruit is a tropical fruit commonly found in South and South-East Asia. It has a green thorny outer skin and can be eaten in both ripe and unripe forms. The young unripe fruit is cooked and used by various cuisines in curries, salads, side-dishes etc. The ripe fruit is sweet with an acute flavour, and is used in desserts, cakes, custards, tropical fruit salads and more. Jackfruit seeds can also be eaten boiled or roasted.
