Dragon Fruit

A beautiful fruit grown in Southeast Asia, Mexico, Central and South America, the dragon fruit is also referred to as pitaya. This fruit has a leafy skin, the colour of which ranges between red and yellow. The flesh is red or white, with a slight earthy, sour taste. Drangon Fruit is high in fibre, vitamin C and anti-oxidants and is said to help prevent the dangers of free radicals which can cause cancer and other undesirable health detriments. In its fresh form, the fruit can be eaten on its own, or even added to salads and smoothies.
