One of our favourite Asian ingredients, Char Siu is a honey-based sauce with a distinctive plum red colour. In most Asian pantries, it is often used as a marinade for barbeque pork or in the filling of steamed pork buns. Char siu sauce can be quite thick if cold, so, rest in hot water for a minute before using or microwave on medium for 30 seconds. This sauce should be refrigerated after opening.
